Northern Trip Part 2

Salam and good day peeps!!

As we were not able to have a trip around Kelantan and Terengganu, my dad took us to Cameron Highland instead because it was nearby Parit, Perak. Here's why our plans were changed.

My mum booked a hotel called Titiwangsa. It's located at Brinchang, just a few minutes walk to the famous night market.

model tak diiktiraf. =P

The family room is equipped with 2 king size beds. The bathroom and toilet is separated as well. So it's convenient for families that have a good bowel movement...if you know what I mean. lolz

The room is fairly big. Comfy enough for a night stay.

The room is just RM288, Consists of breakfast and steamboat dinner!!!

There were so many choices for the steamboat. You will be full, I'm telling you.

We finished everything that was given, Alhamdulillah.
Except for the eggs because we ate that last, and all of us were full enough.

Dinner stopped being served at 10pm. Were finished just in the nick of time.

The next morning, we went for breakfast at 8am. It stops at 9.30am, so you should get down early or the food will be finish.

After breakfast, we went for a walk towards the market hoping to find some fresh produce to buy.

Zafirah and her poses.

Cameron is one of the best place to buy fresh veggies, fruits and flowers because of the cold climate.

After that, we checked out before going anywhere else.

The view of the hotel lobby.

Then we went to KHM farm for some good 'ol scones and tea!! I went here with my mum a couple of times before. It's located at Kg. Taman Sedia.

tadaaa...

Look at that. woooaaahhh...

Other than scones and tea, they also serve homemade strawberry ice cream...

fresh strawberries and chocolate dip..nyum3

These little munchkins just love the strawberries!!

Just look at those faces. =3

After some filling in our bellies, we went for strawberry picking.

Look at these gigantic cabbages!

It's Zafirah's first time...huhu...she was so excited!

Look at these two strawberry shortcakes. They look so yummy.

There are a lot of places for strawberry picking around this area.

There's Opah's

There's Abang..haha

After satisfied with our picks, we went to the BOH Tea Farm.

The road towards this place is very narrow. So be careful if you're driving. If you are a group with a bus, they have their own shuttle bus to take you uphill because they don't allow tour buses to go up there. The drive will be too dangerous.

It's quite a hike to go up there. Poor my mum and aunt and all those other elderly.

Rest point. huhu..Actually, you can drive your car up to the entrance to drop those who aren't able to hike up. But when we arrive, they blocked the road.

My dad had to carry Zafirah coz she was sleeping.

Accomplished face.

The reason to come here was for this...

The mushroom soup. It was told to be so good, but you know me. haha...I've tasted better. But still pretty good for a processed cream of mushroom soup.

Irdina agreed!! huhu..

Don't forget to snap some awesome shots of the breathtaking view.

and of course some awesome choices of tea.

You can also go for a free guided factory tour to know more how the tea is being processed.

It was a great trip because I went with my family, even though I have been here several times before. #Vacay b4 fly.

Northern Trip part 1

Salam and good day readers!!

This weekend had been so eventful for my family and I.

We had been planning to go to Kelantan to visit my aunt and uncle in Kubang Kerian. We departed on Thursday afternoon around 5pm. The plan was to stay at Kelantan for 2 days and go to Terengganu for my friend's wedding on Saturday. In the car, my dad told us that we would have to go back immediately that Saturday, so I asked whether we can make another stop at Chenor for another friend's wedding.

Everything was planned perfectly. But as Allah said in the Quran:

ÙˆَÙ…َÙƒَرُواْ ÙˆَÙ…َÙƒَرَ اللّÙ‡ُ ÙˆَاللّÙ‡ُ Ø®َÙŠْرُ الْÙ…َاكِرِينَ

Eventhough the verse actually for the disbelievers that intricate a secret plan to go against the Muslim, but the jist of the verse still applies that Allah is the best planner.

Along the way, another aunt of mine called to tell us that my uncle from Perak just passed away that night. On the spot we changed our plans to go to Perak the next morning. So we were rushing to arrive at Kelantan ASAP so that we can have a lot more hours of sleep.

My uncle's house at Kelantan is located beside the Istana Negeri. He's a neighbour to the Sultan...huhu...  It was super nice! But we didn't even get a chance to take pictures of the house. We arrived around 4am and departed 9am the next morning.

On our way, we went through Rantau Panjang, the best place to shop in Kelantan!!!

Tax free complexes...but we could just look from afar.

This is Tasik Banding. Beautiful eh?

We arrived at Parit, Perak (my mum's kampung) aroung 4.30pm.

This is Tok Chik's house. I wrote a post about them before here. Their son was the one that passed away. He had been sick for a while, bedridden. I hope he is in a better place. Al-Fatihah for arwah mamak Fadzli.

When we were young, we used to fish here and go to the orchards with Tok Chik. So much memories...

A lot of us had already went back because it was quite late. We were the ones that's left and the deceased siblings of course.

My Tok Chik's schedule. wwooohaa!! He is so busy. *kalah dato'*

Afterwards, my dad said we could stay the night at Cameron Highland. Wooohooooo!!! The best detour ever!! My mum said it is to compensate our trip to Kelantan and Terengganu that we'd missed. huhu...

I'll tell you about the Cameron Trip in the next post.

Nostalgic Milk

Salam and good day y'all!!

You must be wondering how can a milk be so nostalgic. huhu....Well, first thing is, this milk is abundant during my younger days. You can find it in most local stores especially in kampung areas.

Tadaaa....

Now they're not so easy to find. I used to drink this almost every day. Just love the taste!! So much better than the commercial ones that we have now. They have it in 3 different flavours: Corn (My favvy!!), Strawberry and Chocolate.

My sister's friend sells this if anyone interested. You can also find them near manjaku Bangi.

Meeting Kak Wawa

Salam and good day peeps!

This story was held off for quite a while. Kak Wawa was my lecturer during my undergrad at the garden of knowledge and virtue, IIUM. She thought me Epidemiology (not related to skin!), Biostatistics, Research methodology and she's the co-supervisor for my final year project.

We kept in touch after I graduated and become close friends. She shared a lot of her experience doing her undergrad in the UK. If not for her furthering her studies, I would've made her my referee for masters as well.

When I was coming back from London, she asked to buy some chocolates that she had been craving for from good 'ol Britain. So, we arranged to meet at The Curve, KL.

She treated us at Manhattan Fish Market because the menu is suitable for this little munchkin and the venue is suited for her to play and run around. Thanks you so much for the treat!! =D

This girl took a while to warm up to us, but after that...she's so much fun to play with. I went for this little cutie's aqiqah..and now she's so big already.

Kind of reminded me of this little duckling because they are so much alike.

After lunch, we had some coffee. What is life without coffee. hehe...We talked so much. Hours passed by without us noticing.

When we were at The Curve, I think even now, they are having a 3D art show at the lobby.

This is Ithar's interpretation of it.

There were so many people and because we were in a hurry, these are the only decent photos that we managed to take.

Hope we can meet again, Kak Wawa. This post is dedicated to you. *wink*

Until next time...http://eemoticons.net
